This limited edition was just bottled, unclarified and unfiltered, at the end of March so it is really is as close as you can get to drinking a glass straight from the barrel.
Our poetic, award-winning master blender, Antonio Flores, likes to view the annual release of Tio Pepe En Rama as a tribute to the flor – the yeast layer that protects Tio Pepe and gives it its distinctive character. The flor grows at its thickest in spring which is when Antonio has the enviable task of tasting and selecting the special barrels that will make it into the release.
What does it taste like? Well, just like previous releases we think you’ll find it’s brimming with “zingy”, “nutty”, “intense” and “turbocharged” fino character.
